One-on-one technology help by appointment
Do you need help with your laptop computer, mobile device, or a library digital resource?
We can help you with:
- Accessing e-books, digital audiobooks, and magazines on your device.
- Using any library software or mobile application (e.g. myLIBRO, Libby, Kanopy, Transparent Language)
- Using library databases (e.g. NoveList, Ancestry Library Edition, accessing newspapers or magazines).
- Using the library website or catalog
- Basic use of an iPad, Kindle, Android device, or smartphone.
- Basic use of a computer, laptop, or the internet.
- Creating an email address or using email.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
*Library staff are not specialists in any one area and can only offer basic assistance. For in-depth assistance, we may refer you to self-paced instructional materials, library technology classes, or an appropriate local business.
We are not able to assist with:
- Troubleshooting or repair of personal devices.
- Virus or malware issues
- Financial transactions, or offer medical, legal, or tax advice, interpretation, or recommendations.
- Tutorials on software unavailable through the library.
- Ongoing, generalized technology tutoring to any one patron.
Please read before requesting an appointment:
- One on one technology help is available for Henderson County Public Library cardholders
- Sessions are available for up to forty-five minutes.
- Individuals may make one appointment per month. This is a popular service, and we want to ensure fair access for library patrons.
- Please bring with you all chargers for your mobile devices and any passwords you might need.
- Library staff assume no responsibility for loss of any data or damage to devices from a patron’s use of library computers, software, or equipment.
