Colors from Plants: The Seasonal Harvest In-Person
Etowah Library
Amy Putansu has taught dyeing and weaving at Haywood Community College for 16 years. She will present a talk on natural dyes and their colors found in nature, with a focus on local resources. These dyes have been used on fibers, yarns, and fabrics since the Stone Age, and they have a long history here in southern Appalachia. Specific plants, their colors, and their uses will be shared.
